Facility Access: What we do

ORH offers a unique service designed to help answer strategic and tactical planning questions by identifying and appraising options for change using proven Operational Research (OR) techniques.

The types of facilities modelled includes: NHS hospitals, burns centres, valuation tribunal centres, social care services and vehicle maintenance workshops.  ORH modelling can inform your planning process to help you make better decisions.

ORH’s area of expertise encompass a wide range of facility access issues including: optimising the geographical configuration of facilities, identifying optimum areas for new locations and supporting the development of an asset management plan.

The impact of changing facility locations can be assessed in terms of both current and predicted future demand, and for service users relying on different modes of transport (eg, ambulance, car, taxi, foot and public transport).

Facility Access: How we do it

We use sophisticated Operational Research (OR) techniques for data analysis and modelling.  The use of up-to-date travel time data to provide geo-spatial information is a key component of our facility access work.

ORH’s experienced consultants have developed a good understanding of geographical access from working with different service providers across a range of metropolitan and rural areas, at national, regional and local levels.
