Objective

• To quantify patrol objectives and patrol workload, and to determine the resource implications of the preferred patrol régime
  

Methodology

• Two key elements of patrol were defined – specific (eg, schools) and general (prevention and visibility).
• Targets and workload levels for each of these patrol types were developed with the Force.
• Combined call response and patrol modelling was undertaken against a number of patrol régimes
  

Outcomes

• A preferred officer patrol régime was identified alongside estimated officer utilisation by section and shift.
