Hospital Re-Configuration |
Objective
- The broad objective of the study was to support an option appraisal process for reconfiguring hospital services.
Methodology
- Analysis of A&E workload to quantify the current access profile
- Modelling and evaluating the detailed access profile for shortlisted options.
Outcomes
- Appraisal of shortlisted options against three criteria: a) most accessible to deprived populations; b) least increase in travel times; and c) best fit with population density.
- Sensitivity analysis completed around future demand levels and changes in the balance between different transport modes.
- Access results incorporated with appraisal of clinical and cost factors
